Bay View Elementary School

The scope of Phase I involved renovation of the administration-classroom building, the library-media center, the multipurpose building and the five portable classrooms to the south of campus. This work included new finishes in classrooms: new paint, new carpet and/or vinyl floor tiles and new marker boards. The library-media center received paint, new vinyl flooring and new casework. The interior of the multipurpose building has been repainted, a new floor installed, the stage has been enlarged and new tables have been purchased. All restrooms on campus were completely redone with new fixtures, partitions and tile on the walls and floors.
The entire campus has an upgraded electrical and data system, improved heating and ventilation system, a new phone and intercom system and the fire alarm-security system was improved. The exteriors of the buildings have been repainted and extensive sitework completed.
The three additional portables were completed as part of the Adult Education relocation plan. The roof replacement is complete and miscellaneous termite repairs were performed where necessary. Some minor site grading to remedy roof and site drainage issues were completed. Additional site lighting was installed at the perimeter of the block wall at the Bay Street/Mission Street parking lot. The playfield underwent some fairly significant upgrades to the drainage and sprinkler system.
