Santa Cruz High School
What a difference a summer makes! Work began in the spring with the modernization of the industrial arts buildings. The windows have been replaced, the exterior of the buildings have been repainted, the restrooms are completely redone and upgrades to the photo shop darkroom will progress in stages until final completion next summer. Similar work has been done in the science building. The interior and exterior of the building has been repainted. New windows have been installed. New electrical and data raceways have been installed. The restrooms were gutted and restored with new tile, partitions and fixtures. The fire sprinkler system has been upgraded.
Concurrently work began in the gymnasium and locker rooms. Both the boys and girls locker and team rooms are completely redone with new lockers, benches, toilet-shower facilities and paint. The interior and exterior of the administration building has also been painted, new vinyl flooring has been installed and ceiling tiles replaced where needed. The heating, ventilation, fire sprinkler, data and electrical systems have been improved. New marker boards were installed in classrooms. The layout of the administration and counseling offices was redesigned.
Work in the physics and ceramics building included new flooring and paint.
A bridge and elevator structure that provides disabled access throughout the entire campus and unites the upper and lower campuses was constructed. The school now has a new outdoor dining pavilion, new windows throughout the administration building and renovated math, home economics and cafeteria buildings.
